iPhone 2nd launch on 22th Aug 2008

Hi folks,

I guess by now most of you already know that on the 22th Aug 2008, another bunch of countries will have their iPhone 3G. I have received unconfirmed insider news before that SingTel will launch iPhone 3G on 1st September. If that is true, the 22th Aug date means that Apple probably managed to deliver a week ahead of schedule.

Reports are flying all over Internet mentioning that the shipped iPhone 3G firmware seems to be buggy. Some of the sites even mentioned that the interface is a little bit sluggish as compared to the original iPhone. I presume an update would do the trick.

Lastly, there's still no available unofficial unlock solution for the iPhone 3G hardware. U can unofficially unlock the original iPhone installed with firmware 2.x though. The official unlock is performed by mobile operators, for a fee, of course. The last time I checked, the dev team has managed to downgrade the modem firmware on the iPhone 3G hardware. An unofficial unlock solution should be out soon.

Now, back to work.
