Windoze virus infected its chief developer ?

Interviewer: Good day Mr. Windoze chief developer. Can you talk about what's up and coming for the next general release of Windoze 7?

WCD: Well, it'll be available 3 years after we first launched Pissta and we're very exciting about it.

Interviewer: So what are some of the new features we can expect?

WCD: 3 years and I promise it'll WILL be very exciting and promising.

Interviewer: I see. We have heard about a new kennel that your company is working on. So will that be integrated into Windoze 7?

WCD: Not exactly. But it'll be 3 years. Very very exciting.

Interviewer: Hmmm, what do it exactly mean by that?

WCD: 3....3..3! 3 years. Yes, 3 years.

Interviewer: I beg your pardon?

WCD: 3... I think I've just hit a general exception fault with your 64bit question. I don't have the drivers for that. We should end the conversation here before I run out of memory.

12th - 21st May 2008

My salute goes to the rescue team.
This video is dedicated to everyone who is affected:

Predictions

I have made quite a number of accurate web industry predictions the last couple of years. Today I'll attempt to make another 2:

  1. iTunes store will start selling games developed for Apple TV in 18 months time and Apple will enter the home gaming market.
  2. Apple TV will integrate with Twitter to display "tweets" using Overlay-Screen-Display technology. As usual, Apple will stun all of us with glossy transparent effects while displaying "tweets" overlaying your favorite TV programme. This should happen within 18-24 12 months.
Actually, the first prediction is already semi reality (in fact, I've made this very prediction when Apple TV launched for the second time). As for the second prediction, I see the Internet would go full circle from desktop to TV to mobile. Yup, Internet for TV was attempted before by many and it failed big time. Obviously, product folks couldn't have converge Internet and TV properly because they didn't know a fact; time spent on the Internet today is ranked desktop, mobile then TV and this will change in the next 2 years to mobile, desktop then TV. As such, a successful Internet TV product must first provide Internet content of a broadcasting nature (which is the primary use of a TV) as a primary feature. iTunes is well positioned for that and I think so is Twitter (that is if they continue to remain up all the time). What's next? Interactive TV. Nope, web on TV wouldn't do. Games naturally will; it's the only interactive application that has made it to the TV platform with great success.

What's the 3rd screen you spend the most time looking at everyday?
Think again =)

Online Video Network Consolidation?

Not quite the type of consolidation that companies undergo from time to time, CBS has announced their new "consolidated" online video distribution channel; CBS Audience Network. With my little knowledge of the online media industry, this is what I could make up of the news which I've received today.

Essentially, by "consolidating" multiple online video sites under the CBS Audience Network, CBS is able to deliver a variety of content (Startrek, games, sports, news, radio, etc) over it; making it the #1 Television Network (as they claimed on their web site).

With CBS Audience Network, it seems that online video advertising will be standardized as well. Details quoted from their site:

  • Run standard pre-roll (billboard/:15) and mid-roll (:15/:30) video ads with companion ads (300x60 and 300x250)
  • Video overlay ads
  • InVideo Ads on YouTube with 300x250 companion ad, interactive flash ad or video ad running on CBS watch pages with YouTube.

Partners involved include Adobe, AOL, Bebo, CBS, Comcast, Dave Networks, Joost, MeeVee, MSN, NetVibes, Sling, TV.com, Veoh, Brightcove, Goowy, Meebo, Ning, RockYou, Slide, Videoegg, VSocial, Youtube and more.

Sounds huge? It is.

3G iPhone in black color

I know many have seen photos of the to-be-launched-3G-iPhone. Some articles have speculated that it'll come in black color. Perhaps that's true. AT&T has already started selling them online:
